| The purpose of this course is to improve the students ability to communicate in English. Reading selections will be coupled with listening exercises to provide the students with vocabulary and background material, then the students will be required to discuss the topics. |

| Regular attendance, completion of all homework assignments, and active participation in discussions are required to receive a passing grade in this course. In addition, a test will be given at the end of the semester. |
