Study of the Major Works of Mark Twain

授業の目標(講義概要)
In this college level literature course, students will become acquainted with the life and works of one of America's greatest writers. Students will be expected to comprehend the works and critically comment on the ideas contained in the writings.

授業計画
The course will be divided into three distinct segments covering the life and writings of Mark Twain. The first third of the semester will focus on the young Mark Twain and the establishment of his career. The middle third will examine his writings that take place on and nearby the Mississippi River. The final segment of the course will examine the older, more cynic Twain.

評価方法
Regular attendance, completion of all homework, and active participation in class discussions are required to receive a passing grade in this course. In addition, an end-of-semester report or test will contribute to the students' evaluation.
