| 授業の目標（講義概要） |
| This course will provide the students opportunities to refine their language skills through performance in English. Focus will be on organizing opinions logically and communicating them to an audience. |
| 授業計画 |
| This one-semester course will focus on role playing to develop skills in reacting to spontaneous situations that might occur in daily life abroad. The semester will be divided into three segments of approximately four weeks each. Introduction and refinement of debating skills will comprise the second third of the course. In this section students will learn how to form their opinions and present them to an audience. The third segment will focus on public speaking. Starting with giving presentations in small groups in class and finish with students being required to give a three-minute speech to a larger audience. |
| 評価方法 |
| Regular attendance, completion of all homework, and active participation are required to receive a passing grade in this course. In addition, an end-of-semester presentation will contribute to the students' evaluation. |
