This class has been designed to prepare the student for her study abroad experience at her host campus. The class will focus on two objectives: Survival English and area studies.

Ž๖‹ฦŒv‰ๆ
During the first half of the term, class time will be spent on the basic topics of Survival English so that when the student goes overseas she will be able to function on a daily basis with a minimum of difficulty. These topics will include:
money
shopping
asking@for and understanding directions
understanding maps
The second half of the term will be devoted to a group research project . Students will be placed in groups according to their host college. Each group will be expected to do an in-depth study of that area. Each research project will include an explanation of that area's history, geography, and local attractions. It will also include a campus guide. Students will present the results of their research to the class.
