Introduction to Sociology

授業の目標（講義概要）

This is an introductory course in sociology. Special attention will be paid to the historyof the family and the education system.

授業計画

The students will be introduced to sociology,the study of how human beings organize themselves into groups. Two of the basic units which hold society together and account for the differences between societies are the family and education system. We will examine how these evolved in the United States.

評価方法

The final grade will be based on an end-of-term test,group project,and homework assignments

Please note that this class will be conducted in English. The lectures, handouts, and tests will be in English only. The student projects may be done in either Japanese or English.
